  • The lecture assignment is in the form of making a “A Complete Smart Document with Complex Graphics, Curve Fitting Model, and Design Experiment (DOE)” (for example Thesis) using MS Word which has automatic features using tools in the MS Word application, including: Cover Pages, Lists Tables, List of Figures, Table of Contents, Chapter I Introduction (consisting of level 2 sub-headings (1.1, 1.2, etc.), Chapter II Literature Review (consisting of sub-headings up to level 3 (2.1.1, 2.1.2, etc.), and Bibliography. The cover page numbers to the table of contents must use Roman numeric page numbers (i, ii, iii, …), while Chapters I to II use Arabic numeric page numbers (1,2,3. ..).
  • The topic of the lecture is free and dummy only, but it describes the format of the thesis document, and may use dummy data, but the elements must be complete, including: smart document with MS Word tool, complex graphics (X-YY-Y- YY etc) with Origin, curve fitting model with Origin, and design of experiment / response surface methodology with Statistica.
  • In the document in number 1, it must contain references or citations to literature sourced from international / national scientific journal articles, books, and / or a dissertation. How to make references / citations must use the Mendeley or Zotero application (with the Harvard system). Bibliography is written using the automatic feature of Mendeley (or other Reference Manager, like Zotero) with the Harvard system format.
  • In the document in number 1, it must contain tables that are correctly written and each table must be referenced in the body of the text using the Cross References feature in MS Word. Table numbering in the Caption Table must be in sequence using Arabic numerals, for example: “Table 1. Influence ……..”. The table title is placed above the table.
  • In the document in number 1, it must contain pictures (in the form of graphics) that are correctly presented and each image must be referenced in the body of the text using the Cross References feature in MS Word. Image numbering in the caption must be sorted using Arabic numerals, for example: “Figure 2. Model result ….”. The image title is placed under the image.
  • Pictures in the form of graphs in number (4) must contain graphs of the results of data processing using the ORIGIN graphics processing application. The charts should include: XY charts (single Y), multi Y charts: XYY charts, XY-YY charts, and XYY (middle) -Y charts, and X-YY-Y (middle) -YY charts, or others .
  • The pictures in number (4) must also contain graphs of the results of data processing using the ORIGIN graphics processing application and are the results of the CURVE FITTING model on experimental data which includes: models that already exist in Origin, AND models made by themselves (Custom Model) .
  • Figures and tables and equations must also contain the results of the Design of Experiment (DOE) – Response Surface Methodology (RSM) using Statistica (at least two independent variables and one dependent variable), including: surface curves, contour curves, curves Pareto chart, regression equation results, ANOVA table and its interpretation.
  • Assignments should be collected by uploading an MS Word document (.docx), where the file name contains information on the student’s full name and NIM).
